- Procore has launched Asset Register, a new feature within Procore Asset Management that continuously captures asset information throughout construction instead of waiting until project closeout.
- The platform links inspections, warranties, manuals, RFIs, BIM models, and other documentation to installed assets, reducing manual handover work while giving owners verified records from day one.
- The release reflects growing demand for digital asset management as owners prioritize faster commissioning, regulatory compliance, and AI-ready project data across the construction lifecycle.
Procore has expanded its construction management platform with Asset Register, a new tool that digitizes one of construction’s most time-consuming tasks: project handovers. Available globally as of August 5, the feature continuously captures asset data during construction, allowing contractors to deliver verified digital records instead of scrambling to assemble documentation at project closeout.

The launch targets a longstanding industry challenge. Asset information is often scattered across multiple systems and only compiled near completion, leaving contractors with weeks of administrative work while owners wait for the records needed to commission buildings and begin operations.
Closing the handover gap
Traditional closeout packages rely on spreadsheets, binders, and disconnected files gathered at the end of a project. The process slows occupancy, increases operational risk, and leaves owners with incomplete asset information.
Asset Register shifts that work earlier in the construction process. Instead of recreating records during closeout, the platform captures documentation as assets are installed, inspected, and commissioned. The result is a continuous digital record that follows each asset from installation through handover.
According to Procore, the construction industry loses billions of dollars each year because critical asset information isn’t captured until project closeout.
The details
Built into Procore Asset Management, Asset Register connects inspections, warranties, operation manuals, RFIs, as-built drawings, and other documentation to individual assets as work progresses.
The platform includes a centralized asset registry, mobile updates from the field, QR code functionality, audit trails, and structured exports for owner maintenance systems to reduce manual data entry. It also supports 3D Building Information Modeling (BIM) visualization in the UK and Ireland, with broader availability expected in fall 2026.
Procore also sees Asset Register as a foundation for its growing AI strategy. By organizing project data around verified asset records, the company says future AI agents will be able to retrieve information, automate workflows, and provide better project insights throughout a building’s lifecycle.
Digital asset management takes center stage
The launch reflects a broader shift toward digital project delivery. Owners are increasingly requesting structured asset data that integrates directly with facility management systems instead of receiving static closeout documents.
The platform also aligns with new regulatory requirements in Europe. Asset Register supports the UK’s Building Safety Act “Golden Thread” framework by linking BIM models with inspections and project documentation to create a complete, auditable asset record.
Early customer feedback highlights operational benefits beyond project turnover. Altus Power said the platform has improved visibility across design, construction, finance, and executive teams while reducing friction caused by disconnected systems.
Why it matters
Digital handovers are becoming a competitive advantage as owners push to commission buildings faster and generate revenue sooner. Verified asset records can reduce delays, improve operational readiness, and lower the risk of missing documentation after construction ends.
For Procore, Asset Register also expands its platform beyond construction management and further into lifecycle asset management. More importantly, it creates the structured data needed to support AI-powered workflows across design, construction, and operations.
What’s next
Asset Register is now available across North America, EMEA, and APAC. Procore plans to expand the platform with broader BIM visualization later this year and additional AI capabilities built on the asset data collected throughout construction.
As digital project delivery becomes standard practice, continuous asset tracking is likely to replace traditional closeout packages, giving owners cleaner data and contractors a more efficient handover process.
