2022 Year End Letter

2022 Year End Letter

GM. As 2022 comes to a close, I want to share some of my thoughts to shed light on what’s been cooking in the CRE Daily ecosystem and give y’all a tease of what’s to come in the New Year. I intend to keep this letter brief, but there's a lot to cover so please bear with me. Maybe I should have just asked ChatGPT to summarize this—just kidding—but seriously…🤔

First, I want to thank each of you for reading and supporting the CRE Daily. None of this is possible without you. Also, quick shoutout to the haters out there. Y’all really keep me sharp when things go a bit off the rails.

What are we trying to achieve?

At its core, the purpose of CRE Daily is quite simple: summarize the most relevant commercial real estate news in as few words as possible. We’re not giving you investment advice or writing PhD dissertations on credit reports and land aprasials. We’re literally just summarizing the news in a way that (hopefully) doesn’t make you want to gouge your eyes out and turning it into a fun, easy-to-read email for you each day.

And it appears to be working. Over 70,000 of you have subscribed to the newsletter and we are growing at 15% rate month over month (100% organic).

what can you expect in the New Year?

To date, summarzing the news has been our bread and butter, but we plan to gradually start adding more features to the newsletter to expand our content (and value) for our subscribers. Here are a few examples:

  • M-F: Yes, you read that correctly. Starting in the New Year, you will receive CRE Daily in your inbox from Monday to Friday. This will be an asset-light version of the newsletter that summarizes the top stories from the previous week and any updates from the weekend.

  • No Cap: 1:1 interviewswith the movers and shakers in CRE in an entertaining format like you've never seen before. We will go BTS with each guest and get an inside look at their favorite restaurants, hotels, gifts, etc., to win over clients at the closing dinner.

  • Talent Collective: We've partnered with BullpenRE to create a marketplace for our community to connect with companies that offer on-demand work in CRE. This will be a great opportunity to find flexible and short-term projects within the industry.

  • CRE Wire: Self-service press distribution tool for companies to highlight deals, new hires, M&A, etc. in the letter, on social, and to select media outlets.

  • Referral Program: Soon, each of you will have a personalized referral hub with a tiered award system. When you hit certain referral thresholds, you’ll be able to receive exclusive content and earn CRE Daily swag.

  • Merch: A digital-destination for branded CRE Daily products, apparel and more.

That's just a few of the things we got cooking for you. As for the newsletter, we’ll continue to pack the email with more timely info, redicoulous memes and add more content focused on specific sectors and sub-markets.

As we close out 2022, we wanted to thank each of you for being on this journey with us and let y'all know we're always looking for new partners to help support this newsletter. We circulate to over 70k subscribers and keep it free for readers! If you'd like to inquire about partnerships, please fill out this form.

Thank you all a billion times over for following along – none of this fun is possible without you all and I am incredibly appreciative. If you would like to share your thoughts, concerns, suggestions or anything else, drop us an email at [email protected].

Happy New Year!

Jordan B.
