Industrial Hub Gains Momentum
Tesla signed a major lease for a 267,099 KSF advanced manufacturing space in Fremont, California, reports CoStar. The move supports Tesla’s shift toward robotics and artificial intelligence. The company is expanding beyond electric vehicles to focus on humanoid robots and AI-driven products.
At the same time, Hines and Oaktree Capital Management listed the Milmont Industrial property for sale through Cushman & Wakefield. They aim to capitalize on growing investor and tenant interest in Fremont’s industrial hub.
Why It Matters
This industrial hub space further cements Fremont’s role as a center for next-generation technology and manufacturing. Tesla, which moved its headquarters to Texas in 2021, continues to expand its California footprint with several specialized facilities near its flagship plant.
The company told investors of plans to phase out certain vehicle lines and expand the Optimus robotics program from its Fremont base. AI will remain a core focus as Tesla pivots to an “autonomous future.”
Industrial Hub Attracts More Tenants
Fremont’s industrial hub, known for heavy power and modern specs, is seeing increased leasing momentum from tech and manufacturing tenants. Recent deals include MiTAC Information Systems Corp. and other global tech firms seeking large, advanced facilities. Similar industrial expansions near Tesla’s Austin Gigafactory point to continued demand for specialized space tied to automation and robotics.
Despite a slower investment year in the East Bay, Fremont’s advanced industrial hub keeps attracting top companies, showcasing its strength as a leading destination for AI, robotics, and manufacturing in Silicon Valley.
