- The Consulate General of India signed a 10-year, 21K SF lease at the Aon Center in Downtown Los Angeles.
- This is the first Indian consulate in LA and the second in California, after San Francisco.
- The lease signals increased diplomatic presence in the US’s second-largest Indian-American population center.
Diplomatic First For LA
For the first time, Los Angeles will host a Consulate General of India, reports Bisnow. The consulate has signed a full-floor lease at the Aon Center, a 62-story office tower located at 707 Wilshire Blvd. The lease spans roughly 21K SF and will serve as the official diplomatic outpost for Southern California’s Indian-American population.
Strategic Location And Visibility
The new space places the consulate in the heart of Downtown LA, providing high visibility and accessibility. “Securing a home at Aon Center not only provides a world-class office environment,” said NAI Capital EVP Tina LaMonica. “It also places the consulate at the heart of the city.” LaMonica represented the Consulate General in the deal.

A Growing Presence
The Los Angeles consulate becomes the second Indian diplomatic post in California, joining the one in San Francisco. The demand for a presence in LA had grown over years, driven by a sizable Indian-American population—the second largest in the state—and calls from local officials and community leaders.
The tower is also home to the State Bank of India, further cementing its ties to India’s diplomatic and financial institutions.
Representing A Top-5 Global Economy
India is currently the only top-five global economy without a consulate in Los Angeles. This new lease not only fills that gap but also strengthens bilateral connections in trade, culture, and civic services.
What’s Next
With the long-term lease in place, the consulate is expected to begin operations in the near future. Its location at Aon Center positions it for regional prominence, just as demand for international representation in Southern California continues to grow.
